However, Ralph Hertwig, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, also considers deliberate ignorance to be useful and, sometimes, even necessary. In a digital world of information overload, he also pleads for conscious critical ignoring. Smart ignorance, alongside critical thinking, can even serve as a didactic concept.
